  • Owner

    Beth Jackson is the owner of Nourished, which has been serving fresh vegan and vegetarian food to customers for 5 years. Beth sells direct to consumers with a weekly pick-up and sells to wholesale retailers throughout the metro that serves wholesome meals to hundreds of customers a week. Beth has built a robust wholesale business, selling her hand-crafted food at The Iowa Food Cooperative and their satellite locations throughout the state of Iowa, The Slow Down, Cha Cha's Highland Bakery, Creme' Cupcake, and are constantly looking for new wholesale opportunities. Beth's experience as a user and administrator in a shared-use kitchen has allowed her keen insight to guide our business. Beth was named a Woman to Watch by the Iowa Restaurant Association 2022.

    Jacob Schroeder is the owner of Crafted Food Services. He has been operating for nearly 4 years. He got his start cooking while attending the Iowa Culinary Institute. Shortly after graduation in 2010, Jacob moved to Denver Colorado to broaden his skillset. His passion for food and cooking deepened while working as a line cook, pastry cook, and occasional private chef in neighborhood restaurants, country clubs, food carts, and fine dining restaurants, most notably, Beast and Bottle. In 2013 he set off on a self-guided tour of Portugal and Germany, working stints at the 2 Michelin-starred restaurants Ocean, Vila Joya, and Seven Seas and finishing at the 3 Michelin Starred Restaurant Aqua in Wolfsburg Germany. A few years after returning to Des Moines Jacob started his own company, Crafted Food Services, with the mission of making people happy through food by fostering an environment where people can make connections within their communities.

    Kali Brudos is the owner of DSM Pasta. Combined, Kali and her husband and business partner, AJ have over 40 years of full service restaurant experience both in front and back of house and in many types of cuisine. She has been an integral part of opening 6 hospitality businesses in the metro, including Smash Park and Paws & Pints, both of which had multi-million dollar sales in their first year of operation. Her experience includes creating event, bar, and food programs, and the creation and implementation of policies, procedures and documentation required for startups. DSM Pasta makes small batch artisan pasta, sauces and butters. They specialize in teaching intimate pasta classes, cooking demonstrations, small scale catering and events and will be looking to expand their wholesale business with the move to Moxie.
