We are a group of hospitality and event experts who set out to find a better way to support Des Moines food businesses and events. Our innovative shared-use commercial kitchen model lets you rent by the hour, minimizing overhead for startups and catering companies. We provide a clean, fully-equipped space that is licensed and ready for production, allowing you to focus on your product, not the paperwork.

    Beth Jackson is the owner of Nourished, which has been serving fresh vegan and vegetarian food to customers for 5 years. Beth sells direct to consumers with a weekly subscription based pre-order for meal prep pick-up to hundreds of customers a week. Beth has built a robust wholesale business, selling her hand-crafted food at The Iowa Food Cooperative and their satellite locations throughout the state of Iowa, The Slow Down, Kava DSM, Creme' Cupcake, Iowa Food Coop and are constantly looking for new wholesale opportunities. Beth's experience as a user and administrator in a shared-use kitchen has allowed her keen insight to guide our business. Beth was named a Woman to Watch by the Iowa Restaurant Association 2022.

    Jacob Schroeder is the owner of Crafted Food Services. He has been operating for nearly 6 years. He got his start cooking while attending the Iowa Culinary Institute. Shortly after graduation in 2010, Jacob moved to Denver Colorado to broaden his skillset. His passion for food and cooking deepened while working as a line cook, pastry cook, and occasional private chef in neighborhood restaurants, country clubs, food carts, and fine dining restaurants, most notably, Beast and Bottle. In 2013 he set off on a self-guided tour of Portugal and Germany, working stints at the 2 Michelin-starred restaurants Ocean, Vila Joya, and Seven Seas and finishing at the 3 Michelin Starred Restaurant Aqua in Wolfsburg Germany. A few years after returning to Des Moines Jacob started his own company, Crafted Food Services, with the mission of making people happy through food by fostering an environment where people can make connections within their communities.

    Kali Brudos is the owner of DSM Pasta Co. Combined, Kali and her husband and business partner, AJ have over 40 years of full service restaurant experience both in front and back of house and in many types of cuisine. She has been an integral part of opening 6 hospitality businesses in the metro, many of which had multi-million dollar sales in their first years of operation. Her experience includes creating event, bar, and food programs, and the creation and implementation of policies, procedures and documentation required for startups. DSM Pasta makes small batch artisan dry and fresh pasta, sauces and butters. They offer dry pasta through their website and local pickup for fresh pasta, sauces and butter through a pre-order platform. They specialize in teaching intimate pasta classes, cooking demonstrations, small scale catering and events and have expanded their wholesale business with the move to Moxie.
